Role Overview

We’re looking for an independent New Business Director to help grow our studio, working with us one day per week. If you have a proven track record in B2B sales and agency new business development, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that although OtherFolk® is a fully remote studio, you must be a UK-based.

As a Fractional New Business Director, you’ll be responsible for owning and managing the entire new business funnel—from prospecting and outreach to relationship building and closing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage high-potential clients, understanding their challenges and initiating meaningful conversations.
  • Qualify and nurture leads, keeping conversations warm and guiding prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Build relationships based on trust and value – no mass B2B email blasts, just thoughtful and personalised outreach.
  • Join sales calls, collaborate with the team, and help refine our approach to winning new business.
  • Support pitches and proposals, shaping strategies that position OtherFolk as the right partner.
  • Advise on industry events, awards, and visibility tactics to ensure we stay on the radar of key decision-makers.
  • Track and report on outreach efforts, conversations, and opportunities, providing regular progress updates.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to shape our business development approach.
  • Offer insights into refining our pipeline, qualifying leads effectively, and converting interest into meaningful opportunities.
  • Share market insights – what prospects are looking for, which messages resonate, and where we can refine our offer.

What We’re Looking For

  • Agency sales background: You’ve sold creative services before and understand how to engage prospects on brand, content, and digital work.
  • B2B experience a plus: Ideally, you’ve sold to B2B marketing leaders and understand how to build trust and demonstrate value in that space.
  • A driven, results-oriented new business professional with a strong network and a consultative, human approach.
  • A team player with a sense of humour – focused, driven, but easy to work with.
